frequently asked questions
There will be a lot of questions that you will have when booking your photographer so i’ve collated the most commonly asked for you below. If you have any other questions you’d like to ask before booking your free consultation, please do not hesitate to mail me via paul@phrphotography.com and I will be more than happy to provide the details you are looking for.
how far will you travel for the free consultation?
I will travel up to a 40 miles from my home location to provide a free consultation. If you live much further away but are having your wedding in South Wales, I am more than happy to meet you at the venue on your next visit but communication can always be maintained via email and the telephone.
are there any additional charges?
Usually no, but if your venue or home location is outside my normal 40 mile coverage area, there will be a 25p per mile charge for additional millage incurred. If you would like to book me for an overseas wedding or your wedding is located in England for example, travelling and accommodation costs will be required in full prior to the wedding but they will be agreed in advance.
how long do we need to allow for photos?
This is a vital factor to consider when scheduling your day. As a guide, set aside 30 minutes for the group shots, 30 minutes for the bridal party and 30 minutes for the private bride and groom shots. Please be aware that any traveling time to locations will increase the time needed. Please make sure you allow traveling time from service location to reception location if different and additional time for guests with accessibility problems. The times can vary greatly depending on the quantity of group shots too so this also needs to be considered.
is a deposit required to book you and when would the balance be due?
There is a £300 retainer fee to be paid and booking my services for your wedding day can only be secured once this payment has been made. The balance is due no later than 14 days prior to your wedding day. A monthly payment option is available and also any gift vouchers purchased on your behalf will be deducted from the balance owed.
how many photographers will there be?
Unless a 2nd photographer is requested, I will always photograph a wedding by myself and sometimes I will bring an assistant. A 2nd photographer can be requested where there will be an additional charge of £200 for the day.
how long will it take for my photos be ready?
Your photos will be ready up to 1 month after the wedding day but I aim to have them ready for you within 2 weeks. When your photos are ready, they will be placed online in a secure gallery where you, your family and friends can view and order prints and other products from.
If you have chosen the digital package or have purchased the hi-res print release, I will be in touch to arrange a date and time when I can deliver your DVD presentation pack to you.
how do I choose the photos i’d like in my album?
When your photos are ready and you have enjoyed looking through them online long enough to decide the images you’d like in your album, please make a list of the photos filenames and send them to me at your convienience.
how long will my album take to arrive?
Once i’ve received your list of chosen photos, I will start your custom album design. Once I have finished your design, i’ll send you proof images and we can work together to make any required changes. Once you are completelly happy with your design, it will take up to 2 weeks for your album to arrive. When i’ve received your ablum, I’ll be in touch to arrange a date and time when I can come and visit you once more to present the album to you.
can I order additional albums after the wedding?
Of course you can so if you decide you would like smaller parent albums or even mini albums, just let me know. You can choose from the wide range of albums on offer and you can also choose to have a new design created for you with a different set of images too. I’m very flexible and offer a lot of choice to make sure you get exactly what you’re looking for.
how long will my photos be online to order from?
Your photos will be online for approximately 6 months from the date they have been made available online.
are our guests permitted to take photos?
Of course they are, the more photos the merrier! The only time your guests will not be permitted to take photos will be at your scheduled private bride and groom shots as time will be limited and distractions need to be kept to a minumum.
